A one day Food Safari with Cumbria On A Plate offers behind-the-scenes exclusive views and tastes of Cumbria’s best artisan food. You get to meet the producers and see how they craft their produce. In addition you will get the opportunity to sample and enjoy some the finest local food the Lake District has to offer. No two safaris are exactly alike – each one created to suit the particular interests of safari guests. Many of the food producers are not normally open to the public so you get exclusive access and tastings! Depending on the season, there are new born lambs to be bottle fed, cheese making to watch, learn how English wheat is ground using water power and chocolate to be devoured.
As well as tasting as we go, lunch with wine is included, often on a country estate with ingredients having been grown on the land.
You will be taken back to your accommodation or car at the end of the day.
